Moving from EasyCard to Finley: what we can tell you today

If you’ve used EasyCard in store, you’ll have seen the name Finley starting to appear alongside it. Here’s what’s actually happening, in plain terms — and, just as importantly, what we can’t tell you yet.

What’s confirmed

Finley is Pioneer Finance’s new consumer credit product, and it replaces EasyCard as the way we offer in-store finance going forward. Retailers who currently accept EasyCard are moving across to Finley over time — we’re building a dedicated process to bring existing EasyCard merchants onto Finley without making them re-sign paperwork they’ve already signed once.

If you already have an EasyCard account, you don’t need to do anything. As soon as Finley goes live, every EasyCard customer transfers across automatically — no new application, no re-verifying your identity, no reconnecting a bank account. EasyCard keeps working at participating stores right up until that point, so there’s no gap where neither works.

Finley itself works differently to EasyCard day to day. EasyCard is typically a clerk-assisted, SMS-verified purchase at the counter with no app involved. Finley is app-based: once your account has moved across (or once you’ve applied, if you’re new to Finley), you pay in store from your phone. New applicants still go through identity verification and connect a bank account for an affordability check — that requirement doesn’t apply to existing EasyCard customers, whose accounts carry across as they are.

What we can’t confirm yet

We’re not going to pretend these are settled when they aren’t:

  • The exact go-live date. We know the transfer happens the moment Finley launches; we’re not naming a calendar date here until it’s certain.
  • Whether your rate, limit or repayment amounts change as part of the move. We’ll confirm this before launch.

We’d rather tell you “not decided yet” than guess. As each of these firms up we’ll update this post and add it to the FAQ, which is also where you’ll find the day-to-day questions — what Finley costs, how approval works, and what happens to a card that’s lost or stolen.
